About Ruth

Hello there,

Well as you’d expect on an about page, here’s a little information about me.

My name’s Ruth Sanderson, I’m a Yorkshire lass and the Founder of blue pea POD an organisation that helps individuals and organisations express their true identity in the world of business.

I personally help leaders on their path to being fearlessly authentic, being fulfilled in their career and going on to build workforces and places where everyone is engaged in a job that has meaning for them.

So then this site contains my thoughts and sources of ideas on self expression, resilience and what it takes to grow as an individual.   Ever heard of the ‘Hero’s Journey’?  Whether you have or haven’t, you’re still living one, as am I.  You see by nature we are story people, we learn and share with stories, we come alive in story, we are our stories.   Ponder that last sentence for a moment - makes you think doesn’t it.  So the material I share with you endevours to help you be the leading light in your story, not the best supporting actor or actress.

My background is in science (various branches of).  I’ve been an entrepreneur now for a good 9 years, prior to this I spent 15 years working in the manufacturing world of the Chemical and FMCG sectors.  Bring it all together and it enables me to add value to my clients and get real results, short and long term.  I can’t guarentee this as an outcome, however most of my clients have secured long term investment in their manufacturing sites - and we started out just wanting to bring stability through this volatile market.

Life long study has equipped me with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry, a Diploma in Management, be certified as a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, certified in Archetypal Applications (individual and organisation) and level 2 of the Corporate Transformation Tools.  As well as lots of stuff they don’t give you pieces of paper for.  Such as tenacity, resilience, faith and the ability to laugh at myself, often, and I do.

Since the grand age of 21 my philosophy has been to make the most of every single day, doing every ‘thing’ at 100%.  Others describe me as cheerful, curious, imaginative and passionate.  I also get comments like quirky and nutty - it’s nice to see I’m shining bright.

For years I’ve loved the quote “there’s no point in living if you can’t feel alive” from The World Is Not Enough.  And if I had to pick a mantra to live by that would be it.

As for the future, well they say everybody has at least one book within them, and one day I’ll write that book.  Well one day I’ll have a book published.  If I write it in one day it’ll be a short book.

So please enjoy the site, comment freely and should you want to discuss the possibility of me mentoring you then please get in touch.
